An honest comparison.
Timemark grew up into team software. Trustamp is the honest proof camera for everyone else — and the only one that proves the image itself wasn't altered.
All comparisons sourced from Timemark's public documentation, App Store reviews, and Trustpilot as of June 2026. Timemark positioning re-verified 2026-06-03 from timemark.com.

| Target user | Individuals & small teams | Field teams & enterprises |
| Verification standard | ✓ Open C2PA-compatible | ✗ Closed (timemark.com only) |
| Detects image / pixel tampering (AI face-swap, object removal, re-render) | ✓ Turn on C2PA — an open Content Credential binds the pixels; any edit breaks it, verifiable in any C2PA tool | ✗ Built around time / GPS verification; no open, independently-verifiable pixel-integrity check |
| Verifiable in Adobe / Chrome | ✓ Yes (V2; principles in V1) | ✗ No |
| Verifiable in 3rd-party tools (LinkedIn, Photoshop, iOS Photos, Chrome badge…) | ✓ Any C2PA-aware tool, no Trustamp account needed | ✗ Only on timemark.com (closed silo) |
| Public verify URL | ✓ Yes — works after EXIF strip | ~ Photo Code, in their portal only |
| Manual GPS refinement | ✓ Doorplate level, transparently noted | ✗ Not allowed (top 1-star complaint) |

You're a team of 10+ field workers who all need to upload to a shared cloud, you want integrations with Slack and Google Drive out of the box, and you're fine with Timemark being the only place your credentials can be verified.
You're an individual or small team who needs photo proof that's independently verifiable by insurance adjusters, lawyers, or platforms that don't know your photo app. You want everyday watermarks for free, with verification only when you actually need it. You want one-tap cancellation if it doesn't work for you. And you need proof that survives the AI era — where the question isn't just "when was this taken" but "has this image been edited."
Credit where it's due. Server-verified timestamps and the basic "photo + GPS + time" proof concept are good ideas. We kept them.
Open instead of closed. Your credential isn't locked to our website — any C2PA-aware tool can verify it.
GPS refinement instead of GPS lock. When GPS is wrong (and it often is), you can edit the doorplate detail — but country/city/street are locked to your real location, and every edit is transparently noted.
Witness the moment, keep the photo. Every witnessed shot anchors its time and place to our server — a few hundred bytes, never the image. Turn on C2PA to also seal the picture itself, right on your phone.
No surprises. One-tap cancellation, no hidden team-plan upsell.
Turn on C2PA and, because Trustamp is built for the open C2PA standard, the credential embedded in your JPEG is readable by any C2PA-aware verifier — no Trustamp login, no Trustamp website needed. (The public verify link also lets anyone check a photo's time and place.) Here's the C2PA verification ecosystem your recipients can use:
| Tool / Platform | Trustamp photo | Timemark photo |
|---|---|---|
| Adobe Verify (web) | ✓ Manifest readable | ✗ No C2PA data |
| Chrome / Edge built-in Content Credentials badge | ✓ Auto-detected | ✗ Not supported |
| Adobe Photoshop / Lightroom | ✓ File → Content Credentials | ✗ No data shown |
| iOS Photos / Google Photos / Samsung Gallery (2025+) | ✓ System-level viewer | ✗ Nothing to show |
| LinkedIn / TikTok / Threads / Meta platforms | ~ Auto badge (subject to Trust List) | ✗ No badge possible |
c2patool CLI (Adobe open source) | ✓ Standards-compliant | ✗ Not applicable |
| Public verify URL (after EXIF strip) | ✓ trustampcamera.com/verify/<id> | ~ Timemark portal only |
Trust tier note. Trustamp's signing certificate is currently self-issued — our C2PA Trust List application is in progress. Until that completes, the tools above will read credentials but mark the issuer as "not on trust list." The Content Credential's image integrity is still cryptographically verifiable; only the issuer reputation layer is pending.
Timemark, by contrast, doesn't participate in the open standard at all. Their verification only works on timemark.com — you can't drag a Timemark photo to Adobe Verify, Chrome, or Photoshop and learn anything. We think that closed-silo approach is the wrong architecture for the next decade of photo proof.
